Klipfontein Corridor

CLIENT: Provincial Government of the Western Cape
VALUE: Multimillion Rand
ROLE: Project and Programme Managers

This was the first initiative by the provincial and city transport administration to transform public transport in the Western Cape. In the first phase of implementation, the new road based network using the Bus Rapid Transport system along the corridor between Khayelitsha and Cape Town, will be introduced. This phase alone covers approximately 65% of metropolitan public transport users. The ultimate goal is to ensure a BRT network across the entire metropolitan region.

The corridor seeks to promote a densification strategy by providing facilities like housing, as well as retail and commercial outlets along its route. This will increase patronage, reduce commuter time and encourage business development.

As Programme and Project Managers, Target Projects oversaw the overall vision by coordinating the various projects.
