Cape Town Film Studios

The fully-fledged Cape Town Film Studios will be the only facility of its kind and size in Africa. Set in a sensitive wetlands area, part of the construction plan was to conserve and preserve this environment. Landscaping was therefore also integral in ensuring this policy.

The studios' construction will capture the emerging film industry in the Western Cape, substantially increasing the revenue derived from this source. The first phase includes the construction of four sound stages, production buildings and workshops and the finished facility will include a fully fledged film city, residential and commercial areas and training centres.

Target Projects worked with the operator to produce an optimal design and act as the Project and Development Managers. We also worked closely with the surrounding community to create employment. This was not only for the duration of the project, but also included skills and empowerment training in the film industry so that the local community could directly benefit from a career path in film.
